1870's patented ATTERBURY PANEL oil lamp
Absolutely authentic 1870's patented oil lamp with matching patented colorless octagonal font and patented opal glass base, both connected by the famed (also patented) Atterbury screw connector. Made in the 1870's by Atterbury in Pittsburgh, PA. It is remarkable to find such a 140-year old lamp in very good condition. See similar lamps in Thuro, Vol. 1, p.130-131 with additional information . Market value of this lamp $250-$300. The lamp is original with an antique Scoville solid brass burner. The wick and chimney are modern replacements. One of the tallest early lamps: Rarely seen intact, and a good value, also.
