1885 HAND ETCHED 'CANADIAN DRAPE' OIL LAMP
A remarkably detailed and elegant antique oil lamp: even the accompanying photographs do not do it justice. This like-new complete oil lamp was patented in 1885 by the Burlington Glass Company of Hamilton, Ontario. It was made in several forms, this one being the unquestioned finest form. The font is etched by hand in a graceful fern pattern. The burner is an original Scoville solid brass #1, and it is topped by a replacement hand made Czech crimp top Pearl Lotus chimney.

The variants of the lamp are pictured on page 271 of Catherine Thuro's Vol. 1. Without burner and chimney the lamp in 2001 was valued at $250+. I have owned hundreds of oil lamps over the years, but this lamp tops my all-glass list. The fine detail and tasteful decoration is unparalled. In pristine condition.

Price = $240.00, plus shipping and insurance to your location (no "handling" fee is ever charged).
