BRILLIANT CUT GLASS OIL LAMP
A beautiful example of the Brilliant period in American glassmaking: this cut glass lamp probably dates from about 1910-15 and is complete and in excellent working order. It appears that it started life as a boudoir atomizer, and at some point was modified to serve as a kerosene lamp(see photos to see why this makes sense). The glass is very heavy and the incised edges are sharp. Note that the heavy metal collar is also incised, not embossed. This leads me to believe this is a hand crafted piece that at one time rested on a lady's dressing table. I have added the new solid brass #0 Queen Ann burner and a plain #0 chimney. For years I have displayed it in an east-facing window where the morning sun is refracted in a dazzling prismatic display. There are no cracks, chips or fleabites. I charge only the actual shipping cost (of your preference), to any destination worldwide.
