A survivor from the late 1860's, this font is closely related to the BOND and LYND patterns pictured and described in Thuro's Vol. 1, pages 90 & 91. The font is in very good shape with a slight interior haze residue from lamp oil. The brass stem has been repaired long in the past by soldering - the solder should be filed, polished and darkened to match the brass. The marble base shows the usual staining and tiny chips. This is a uncommon 130-year-old antique lamp, deserving of an appreciative collector willing to restore it, and available at a reasonable cost. The burner and chimney may be purchased separately Price = $65.00, including U.S. shipping and insurance.
