PAIR of ca. 1865 BUCKLE oil lamps

Click on the blue photo links below for other larger views. In Thuro's Vol. 1, p. 171, she states, "this fine pattern, which is exceptionally well suited to fonts." And to locate a matched pair is also an uncommon find. I believe these date a little earlier than those pictured by Thuro because of the marble bases and early brass stems. I am seling these as a pair, but if you are interested in a single lamp, please contact me in the event they do not sell as a pair by autumn 2006. The fonts are in fine shape with no defects or damage. The brass stems and marble bases do show some wear and staining, but to be expected for utilitarian lamps that are 140 years old (there are not stress cracks in the stems or collars).

Price = $235, including U.S. shipping and insurance.
