These are hand made chimneys with a "crimp top" or "piecrust" top lip and a flared upper section. The crimped lip is mineralized so that the rim has a pearlescent sheen. Made of good quality thin glass, like the old ones, they often contain tiny scratches, wrinkles and sometimes small enclosed bubbles. Although delicate, they are surprising strong (I have accidentally dropped them from a table top and not had them break...!).
