Solid brass 4-INCH GAS SHADE HOLDER FOR #2 BURNER: This gas shade holder supports a ball shade having a 4-inch flared bottom diameter (fitter). The three tabs on the lower ring are bent over the edge of the burner rim to stabilize the holder on the burner. The upper pierced fenced ring has three set screws to firmly clasp the fitter of the shade. The resulting gap between the lower and upper rings allows one to light the burner flame without removing the shade each time - just raise the chimney, light the wick, and lower the chimney.
