This plain oil lamp dates from the 1880's and is hand mold blown. Both the top oil font and the lower base and stem where blown by hand into a mold then joined with a molten wafer of glass. This size lamp is often called a "hand lamp" because it could easily be carried by hand from room to room by grasping the stem. It is in good condition and includes a replacement solid brass #1 antiqued & embossed Queen Ann burner, and replacement crimp top Pearl Lotus chimney. The original brass collar is well cemented to the neck, but does have a couple of stress cracks, one of which has been soldered in the past. A complete working no-nonsense 130-year-old lamp for a good price!
