Complete ROSE QUILT oil table lamp

Click on each thumbnail for an enlarge view. This is a late-Victorian finger lamp, made by the Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co.in 1895. (See Thuro Vol 2, p.113)

This unusual lamp has a cased glass quilted font and clear glass quilted stem and base. It is topped by new solid brass Queen Ann #2 burner, with wick, a replacment chimney, and a five in solid brass shade holder. The shade holder supports an attractive gas shade with frosted bands and a double-braided swirl etched around the center perimeter.Truly beautiful and elegant. This lamp is not perfect: At some past time the lamp must have been dropped, and a large semicircular piece of the base broken entirely off. I have used clear epoxy to restore it. It is now sound and level, with the quilted pattern of the base making it difficult to see the crack. The last picture points out the line of the crack. When immaculate this lamp books for $800.00, usually unobtainable by mere mortals! Price includes lamp, burner, wick, holder, chimney & gas shade. ROSE QUILT oil lamp
